Being a birthday celebration lunch for my elder daughter, I wanted it to be a special occasion. In fact this turned out to be one of the most enjoyable lunches I&#39;ve recently experianced. First the staff on duty made us very welcome, and the service throughout was faultless. Both my daughter and myself chose from the daily lunch menu, and our choices for the main and dessert were excellent, and what a welcome change to have a real flavoursome main course.. Would definitely return.

I came here with my girlfriend for Sunday lunch. The service was brilliant from start to finish and the food was excellent. Will be returning soon.

From the minute we stepped in the front door the manger (with the beard),greeted us and made us feel welcome, he made our drinks and had great knowledge of the location of the bitters along with the wines too. He then seated us and provided us with the menu which had a wide range of dishes available along with a few specials available too, he took great care of me and my friends i definitely recommend coming for a meal with family and friends!

The staff were lovely but we have been meeting at this pub for many years and am disappointed by the food very poor the squid small meal looked as if it had come out of a bag you wouldn’t have know it was squid.

Lovely bank holiday afternoon. Despite the rain we still had a lovely time in the garden. Definitely will be back to try some of the food we saw going out

Excellent choice of side dishes available and I thought I&#39;d never finish my plateful, but I did because it was all really delicious. I especially like the macaroni cheese. Our waitress was above and beyond efficient and is at a standard to be strived for. I wonder if they&#39;re all like her in Runcorn!
